I’m excited to announce that I have been accepted to be a part of the 2024-2025 Alani Nutrition Ambassador Program! I am grateful for the opportunity to be the local face of Alani by driving awareness and sharing products through my social media and on the LMU campus.

What an experience it was to listen to 3 powerful speakers during class last week! 3 different people with 3 completely different backgrounds and career paths provided me with valuable insight on how I can leverage my identity as an athlete through my career. “Bet on yourself.” This phrase stuck to me. It’s important as an athlete and in life to trust your skills, knowledge, and experiences in order to put yourself out there. I’m super grateful I was able to here from these voices and make new connections! #IgniteyourVocation

Looking forward to my group’s marketing presentation this upcoming Monday! We have spent all semester working on capturing an unfamiliar snack brand that has potential in the marketplace. Today, we all worked creatively and collaboratively to film our commercial for this snack brand. I’m excited to put the final pieces together for this project with William Hall and Erin Tracey!

A special shoutout to Jeron Smith for an inspiring presentation over athlete branding as well as his career path! Not many people get to say they have met someone who has worked in the White House. I’m grateful I had the opportunity to learn from someone who has. “The most difficult experiences have always yielded the preparation needed forfuture success.” This quote really resonated with me. Jerone’s transition from working his dream job at Nike to making an incredibly life changing decision to work at the White House makes me realize that I need to accept outcomes or choices that align with who I am and tweak my journey in a way that is personalized for me. I know I have been through difficult experiences just like most student-athletes, but I’m ready totake those risks in my life to push me past my peers and help me realize that I can besomething bigger. Thank you again Jeron Smith for sharing your wisdom with our student athlete community!#IgniteYourVocation

As an entrepreneurship major, I recently had the chance to hear from an entrepreneur herself, Ashley Henderson. Hearing her passion about her event marketing company, League Twenty-Two makes me excited to find what I obsess over or what keeps me up all night. Learning that the path of an entrepreneur won’t be easy only makes me more motivated for the success in the end. Thank you again Ashley Henderson for an inspiring presentation about your career path! #IgniteYourVocation

This sure is bittersweet! So excited for John Brasher who recently accepted the opportunity to work with the UCLA football team!I’m so lucky to have had Coach Brash as a strength and conditioning coach this year at LMU. His passion for others and his ability to make such deep and individual connections despite all the other athletes and sports teams he trains at LMU is by far what makes him so great. Because he’s so invested in personalizing each and every one of our strength and conditioning programs, it allows me to use his passion as fuel in the weight room and on the sand. It makes a difference when somebody cares and I know my whole team feels the same way. There’s definitely a higher standard of what my team and I expect in the weight room now, but that’s for sure something I’m grateful for. UCLA’s getting a good one! Congratulations John Brasher! We will miss you!

A super cool opportunity to learn about informational interviews! Bobby Thompson led a great class, teaching us to “shoot our shot” with anyone who’s careers we are interested in, athleticism, or a wise person we look up too. I know there are tons of people out there who I can benefit from even a 15 minute phone call. I’m excited to take advantage of the network I’m already connected to as well as expanding it! #IgniteYourVocation

Super exciting to hear from Tim Love, J.D. for the second time! Not many students or even people have the chance to be in the same room with someone they aspire to be like. Knowing that Tim Love comes from a position like I am in today and made his way to work with one of the most well known talent agencies in the world (Creative Artists Agency) keeps me hopeful and determined that my future has those same capabilities. I learned that I must create my own opportunities. An advantage I have as a student athlete is through Name, Image, Likeness (NIL). Tim gave me a new perspective of NIL and how it can allow us to find out who we are. I am NIL. It’s my identity and I can choose how I want to represent myself beyond sport whether it’s through my hobbies, morals, or comminity/social influence. It’s really important to find those unique and differentiating facors about oneself in order to understand who we really are and what we want to show the world. #IgniteYourVocation

Ty-Ron M. O. Douglas, Ph.D is someone special. I truly wanted to write down everything he spoke about last Monday as his words carried so much power and wisdom.Ty-Ron M. O. Douglas, Ph.D spoke to our class about Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Justice (DEIBJ). Our university has briefly talked about these concepts, but Dr. Ty-Ron expanded my perspective on the world by making the conversation personal to everyone in the room. I got chills when he told the room full of student athletes that we are brilliant. It was apparently something I needed to hear. It let me know that without even knowing I put myself in this box where it’s just my sport and I.I do have a vocation, but I just need to consider my location. Everyone has a story and it starts where you come from! I felt special in that room and I’m extremelly grateful for Dr. Ty-Ron’s incredible presentation! #IngniteYourVocation
